Dholera Airport 2026: The Investment Window Is Open

Some infrastructure projects change the map. Dholera Airport is one of them.

As of May 2026, DIACL has officially confirmed that navigation and calibration tests are complete. Trial cargo operations are scheduled for Q3 2026. This isn’t a promise anymore — it’s a timeline.

What’s Coming Up

Dholera International Airport is a greenfield project spread across 1,426 hectares, roughly 80 km from Ahmedabad. It is backed by AAI (51%), Government of Gujarat (33%), and NICDIT (16%) — fully government-supported.

Phase 1 alone will handle 1.5 million passengers annually, eventually scaling to 50 million at full build-out. Add to that a dedicated cargo hub, expressway connectivity, and integration with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor — and you have one of India’s most strategically placed airports.

Why Investors Are Paying Attention

Airports don’t just move passengers. They move economies. Hotels, logistics parks, retail centers, and residential demand follow every major airport — without exception.

Investors who enter before full commercial operations typically gain maximum appreciation, as prices are still in an early growth phase while infrastructure is becoming functional.

Dholera is in exactly that phase right now.

The Bottom Line

The runway is ready. Systems are tested. Q3 2026 trial operations are confirmed. The window before an airport goes live is historically the strongest entry point for real estate.

That window is open today.
